The short answer is 'no', you don't have to subscribe to a maintenance package.  We simply offer these packages to allow you to easily manage the costs of your website maintenance over time.

Security and plugin updates are an important part of owning a website, similar to servicing your vehicles regularly, they need to be updated regularly to stay ahead of an ever-changing world.  With improvements to different software and security software (almost weekly sometimes) it is essential to keep your website up to date.

We also offer packages with discounted, pre-paid development time, to allow clients to accrue development time for larger projects, or to cover regular updates to the content of their website. Some clients like to be able to budget for such work and a fixed monthly cost helps them to achieve that.

Yes, we can create a bespoke maintenance package to suit your budget more precisely, should you prefer that.  Just talk to us and we can work with you to create a solution that works for you.

No, you don't immediately lose that time.  We appreciate that nothing is straightforward, and you may not need all of your pre-paid hours some months and need extra hours other months. To support our clients, we allow them to accrue support hours for up to a rolling six months.

By way of an example: If you don't use 5 support hours in month one, they are available to use in months two to six. If you still haven't used those five hours in month six,  they will then be lost.

To help you manage that time, we monitor your accrued time and we will let you know ahead of time if you are at risk of losing any. Having said. that, we see our client relationships as a partnership, and we are happy to talk about utilizing any accrued time for larger projects if the timing doesn't quite match up to that rolling six month period.

Whilst our maintenance packages are set-up to automatically roll-over for the same period, for your convenience, you are not locked-in to any of our website maintenance packages and can turn off the auto-renewal from within your Client Portal, or by talking to your Enrapture Media support team.

If you are unsure as to how long you can commit for a maintenance package, we have created four different maintenance  periods with discounts for longer periods, to help you plan ahead.

You can cancel a maintenance package any time prior to its automated roll-over/renewal date, with no further notice required. We do not provide refunds on maintenance packages, as we already offer discounted rates for periods longer than one month.  

No, it is not a requirement that your website and/or emails are hosted with us, for us to help maintain your website.

We obviously prefer that your online assets are under our management, and ideally hosted with us, to allow us greater control of your overall performance and security, but it isn't a deal breaker.

We believe our hosting solutions offer speed, security, and scalability that exceeds the majority of service providers out there, but then we are little biased.

We are here to work with you and provide solutions and support that both work for you and fit into your requirements; if that is what you prefer, we are happy to work with you to get the most from that solution.

No, you are not locked-in to a twelve month hosting package.

We don't think that would be very helpful, especially to a start-up or small business, and we appreciate that things can change quickly in a twelve month period.

We only require a two-month notice period to cancel a hosting solution; we will refund the pro rata balance (less any bank/credit card fees) to the account your payment was made from (to comply with anti-money laundering rules and regulations).

By way of example: if you have paid for twelve months hosting and, after three months, you need to cancel your hosting, we will refund seven months hosting (less any bank/credit card fees). 

During that two month's notice period, your services will continue to be active if required.

Our intent is to be as fair as possible in these instances, and continue to work to support you, regardless of the situation.

In the vast majority of cases, you most definitely can.  We can completely manage that process for you, or your current developer can do that for you.  

Our team are highly experienced at migrating websites and email accounts, and able to manage the process very quickly and efficiently, in a seamless manner that your customers will not be effected by.

We do charge a small fee for this process, as it requires a team member to spend some time on the process, usually 4-5 hours in total, but that can vary if you are also migrating large or a lot of email accounts. We normally charge a discounted fee of approximately £195 per website/and emails for this process.

Exceptions:

If you require multiple websites, a lot of email accounts, or very large email accounts to be migrated, a further fee may need to be applied, but we would always agree that beforehand.  We don't believe in surprises when it comes to fees.

Not all website hosts allow you to migrate your website away, simply due to the nature of the website builder software they have you use. One example is Wix, but there are other examples.  In these instances, we would either recommend leaving your website where it is, or we replicate it for you, taking the opportunity to fix those little things that irritate you or don't quite work. We can quote on doing that for you and we also offer payment plans if you need to spread the cost.

No, you don't need to transfer your domain(s) to our registrar hosting, but as an experienced domain registrar, with thousands of domains under our management, we offer great domain registration and renewal prices, as well as providing free DNS zones.

If you prefer to keep your domain where it is currently registered, that is perfectly fine and you may need to change your nameservers to point to our DNS Zone, or update your current DNS Zone records (we would provide the records and anything else you would need to change/add).

It is all about making things as simple as possible for you and we can advise you on a domain-by-domain basis as the to the best course of action that best suits your business.

We also support brand management strategies where you capture and manage domains that are the same name but different TLD (i.e. mybusiness.com, mybusiness.net, etc.,) to protect your brand name/identity, by enabling you to hold those domains in one place for easy management.
